About Our Team

BREAD is a high school robotics team participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition in our ninth season. We consist of 80+ members, all of whom are students at Design Tech High School (“d.tech” for short). Team 5940 consists of an equal mix of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, allowing for a wide variety of skill levels and abilities. Our team emphasizes the importance of firsthand learning experience and provides a wide range of opportunities for our members to grow as both life-long learners and graciously professional students.

ABOUT FIRST

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is an international youth organization that operates the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) along with other programs such as FIRST LEGO League Challenge and FIRST Tech Challenge competitions. FIRST inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. Our team participates in FIRST Robotics Competition which is their highest-level program.
